The association between different types of exercise and energy expenditure in young nonoverweight and overweight adults.
Although most exercise recommendations focus on aerobic exercise, nonweight-bearing exercises, such as resistance exercise and swimming, were found to be significantly related to total daily energy expenditure in overweight and obese adults.
